Get Rid of Sewage Odors and Protect Your Home's Air Quality with Zoeller Ejector Pump.

Sewage smell occurs when you suffer from bathroom or shower leakages at home. It can cause a rotten egg-like smell due to the formation of Hydrogen Sulfide and the breakdown/decomposition of organic materials. It's important to fix this issue instantly, as in the long term, these gases can hamper the home environment.

Hydrogen Sulphide, even in low concentration, can cause eye and respiratory irritation. As sewer gas includes other gases, too, like methane or carbon monoxide, you may witness other symptoms related to its exposure. This includes dizziness, drowsiness, or even nausea.

Causes of Sewage Odours

Sewage odours can be caused by multiple issues:

Blocked pipes: As bacteria and gunk accumulate in the pipe, they can cause significant blockages. These bacteria can feed on debris within the pipes resulting in a bad odour.

Clogged-up drains/vents: Just like pipes, drains, and vents can also get clogged up due to dirt and gunk, causing a bad sewage smell.

Septic tank issues: If your septic tank has issues related to plumbing, it may cause a bad odour. These odours also occur from gases like carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, and methane that are generated within the tank.

Damaged toilets: Sometimes bad odour may occur due to damaged toilets, especially when there's a broken or no seal. This can cause waste to accumulate through the services and generate a foul smell.

Pipe Leaks: When your pipe suffers from corrosion, rust, blockages, or holes, it may cause leaks and produce sewage odours. These pipe blockages may happen due to certain elements like grease or tree roots within the pipe's inner surface.

The Zoeller Ejector Pump

Zoeller ejector pumps are best-in-class ejector pumps that emit wastewater from lower levels (as gravity fails to do so). These pumps collect water from underground installations like the basements and bathrooms and transfer it to the sewer lines.

The working principle of the Zoeller ejector pump is simple yet efficient. It has a tank or basin that collects all the sewer and waits for it to reach a certain level. Once it does, the pump pushes the sewer uphill in the sewer line. As ejector pumps have no moving parts, they are quite durable. They are also known for their long-term efficiency and useful functions.

Zoeller ejector pumps can keep all your bad-sanitation-related issues at bay. Whether it's preventing any sewage odours (due to leaks or blockages) or smelly backups, it can take care of everything easily. Additionally, these pumps can keep the air quality of your home fresh and happening.

How to Install a Zoeller Ejector Pump?

To install a Zoeller ejector pump in your home, you can follow the below steps:

If you already have an old pump, first remove it by detaching the sewage basin cover and checking the valve. Pull the old pump and discard any damaged pipes/connectors.

Check the ejector pit for any damages. Prepare the basin to install new ejector pumps.

Install new check valve. Quickly test the pump and float switch.

Now, attach both the adapter and pump to the discharge pipe.

Dig a hole at a 45-degree angle to prevent air lock and ensure water drainage.

Measure your old discharge pipe and cut a PVC as per the same.

Now, slowly lower the sewage pump within the ejector pit. Connect the discharge pipe with a check valve.

Lastly, test the sewage system and see if it's installed perfectly.
